The Virtual Ocean Pavilion organising team wishes to clarify our current practices regarding speaker participation, recordings, and image usage on our platforms.

Current Practice
Participation in Virtual Ocean Pavilion events as a speaker constitutes implicit consent for the recording, photography, and posting of sessions on our platform. All organisers and speakers are informed in advance that sessions will be recorded and uploaded to the platform. Sessions are also uploaded to the Global Ocean Forum YouTube channel, which is open to the public. The recordings are therefore in the public domain, and widely accessible.

To date, we have not required formal written consent forms for image rights or recording permissions, as consent has been understood to be implicit through voluntary participation as a speaker.

Speaker Rights
We recognise and respect the rights of all speakers regarding their image and recorded content. Any speaker who wishes to withdraw their consent may do so by contacting the organizing team. Please submit all requests by 28 November, one week after the live period of the Pavilion Upon such request, we will promptly remove any references to the individual in recordings, images, or related materials from our platform.

Future Practice
Moving forward, we will make our recording and image usage policies more explicit in all speaker communications and event materials. However, we will continue to operate on the basis of implicit consent through participation rather than requiring formal written consent forms.

For any questions or concerns regarding this policy, or to request removal of content, please contact the Virtual Ocean Pavilion organizing team directly.

We thank you for your continued support for the Virtual Ocean Pavilion.
